Why authors choose this

Paper, cloth, and trim are editorial choices

A cream novel and a high-ink photography book should not share the same stock. We spec print the way a publisher would — then match files to that spec.

01

Paperback and hardcover

Trade softcover, casewrap, and jacketed hardback in the sizes readers expect on the shelf.

02

POD and bulk

Sell one copy at a time worldwide, or print a short run for events without a garage of unsold cartons.

03

Proof before quantity

See color, paper, and binding on a physical proof when the job is ink-heavy or illustrated.

04

Tied to distribution

Print files match the same ISBN, barcode, and metadata the stores already have.

Print formats

Choose how the book should feel in a reader’s hands

Every format is built to the same interior and cover system, so paperback, hardcover, and reprints stay consistent.

01

Paperback

Standard trade trims, cream or white interiors, matte or gloss covers.

02

Hardcover

Case wrap or jacketed hardback when the title needs shelf presence.

03

Print-on-demand

One copy at a time, printed close to the reader. No warehouse required.

04

Short run / bulk

Author copies and event stock without a 5,000-unit gamble.

Ink on paper

How we print a book

Interior and cover files must be print-ready. We will not “make it work” from an RGB screenshot.

1

Choose trim and binding

Size, paperback vs hardcover, matte or gloss — locked before files are built.

2

Preflight the files

Bleed, fonts, images, and spine width calculated from the real page count.

3

Proof

Digital or physical, depending on color risk and illustration.

4

Manufacture

POD for ongoing sales, or a dated short run you cannot miss.

5

Ship to stores or your door

Retail distribution, author copies, or both.

Frequently Asked Questions — Book Printing

POD versus offset, color interiors, and author copies.

Modern POD is how most indie books live. Offset still wins on unit cost at high volume and on some color work. We will say which lane fits.

Yes, with files prepared for color. Expect a different cost than black-and-white fiction.

As many as you want to store. We will help you avoid a 2,000-copy bet on an untested title.

Retail POD already prints close to the reader. Bulk cartons can ship; ask for a freight quote rather than guessing postage.
